It kinda ties into the overall meaning of SCP-000 but without giving away any spoilers... something happened to the other soldiers that caused them to ignore pain. The other soldier felt pain so he wasn’t under the same effect so they killed him. I’d suggest watching exploring series video on 5000 to understand it overall.
I still don't understand why they shot that solider did I miss something?
