The War Games' is my personal favourite classic Who story. One of the many great things about this story is how well it keeps the viewer engaged by answering certain questions, but concealing other details at the same time. It also does a great job of constantly expanding the scope of the story by adding more and more on top of what was already there. It gives the story a great sense of forward momentum and that it's leading up to something huge. The way the plot unravels and the mysteries reveal themselves is absolutely spectacular! Honestly, it's amazing how well written this story is. Considering its ten parts long, it never feels slow or boring. It uses the ten part running time to the fullest extent; it’s filled to the brim. Quite easily my favourite classic Who story and that's saying a lot because classic Who has so many amazing stories. 'The War Games' is head and shoulders above them all though.
