You are amazing. I don't think I could have endured all the pain and all the uncertainties you have endured for so long.

It continually amazes me how those in the medical profession don't know what to make of someone who is sick who doesn't completely fall apart and despair when they get sick. Stay happy and stay stubborn no matter what! It's the best medicine. Stress is the real killer for many diseases. It always bothered me...many diseases will go virtually unnoticed for years, decades even, before exploding when there is a diagnosis. But after everything I've been through and everything I've learned, the answer is obvious: it's the stress. It shuts down the immune system in a number of ways. First, the brain/body interprets the stress response as an immediate physical threat. This triggers fight of flight reactions (sympathetic nervous system activity) which prioritize immediate health over long-term health. It will actually shut down the immune system in favor of other functions for fight/flight (such as flipping around the sodium-potassium intra-cellular nutrient bridge) in the same exact way it would if you were being chased by a tiger. Worse yet, constant stress/anxiety of this kind (which many ill people have as they are constantly worrying about worst case scenarios) usually leads to adrenal fatigue. The adrenal glands are critical in providing hormones that allow the immune system to fight back. When this happens, the body is literally too tired from worrying to fight back. So all that nonsense said: stress management will do more for physical healing that any medication (this is the medical explanation for the placebo effect). So find that meditative, quiet place we can all get to with practice and learn to go there when the pain/fatigue is the worst. Dream about the future, escape into the past, remind yourself that the bad times are temporary and will pass (you have to believe this). Trust your body to do the fighting for you. Don't worry, it knows what it's doing. You just have to let it by believing in it. Stay happy. Stay stubborn. :-)

Tu as mon soutien éternel !!
