Nothing quite like a healthy dose of distraction and fun to make things feel better! Positivity is as effective a medicine as there is. Get as much as you can! Regarding the anxiety attacks with no accompanying mental anxiety, anxiety and excitement are both neurologically similar functions. They are both sympathetic nervous system actions (which is the system that kicks off fevers and trembling/shivering on behalf of the hypothalamus). Chronic stress/anxiety (which I think it’s safe to say you have, and for good reason) can cause anticipatory hyperthermia (fever, chills, and trembling). Essentially, the body gets so used to anxiety that it begins to overreact to any sympathetic nervous system activity (such as excitement or strong positive emotions), interpreting everything as anxiety even when the thinking brain isn’t sending those messages. This is probably what you’re experiencing though there are many other possibilities that can cause this effect (such as hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), vertigo, anemia related to various vitamins, side effects of meds including anti-anxiety meds (especially benzos), etc.). The good news is that this very situation is theoretically what the low dose naltrexone will normalize (though for now it may be causing it as it tries to recalibrate your immune system). As to practical advice: when these fits do happen you should be able to ease them by triggering the parasympathetic nervous system. Some of the ways to do this: (1) Open your mouth slightly to relax your jaw and tongue (2) Touch or rub a knuckle or finger to your lips (this is why children instinctively suck their thumbs) (3) Take deep breaths (in for count of three, out for count of six) (4) Put a hand on your stomach just below your ribcage and take deep enough breaths to move your hand a half inch or so. Interestingly, the parasympathetic nervous system is responsible for regulating digestion so these issues are definitely tied together. If your autonomic nervous system issue can be resolved, it may just resolve everything else in time. The naltrexone could very well be the key. We can all hope.

Awesome pictures! Great Job all of you!
