🕑 Added 2024-09-08 05:00:04 +0000 UTCI've been excited to get to this chapter for a while, but biscuits, did it take longer to write than anticipated. Turns out it's quite tough to ensure all the nitty-gritty details are consistent with the last, oh, one million words or so. Doubly so when you write at the speed of a seriously lethargic snail and your notes are in what might best described as 'a state'.
I was going to do just one more editing pass, but then I caught myself. Perfect is the enemy of good enough and all that. I figure one of you will tell me if I missed something or crossed a wire here or there, and I'm still more than pleased with how it came out. Have at it!

I have absolutely no idea what they're talking about, thought I could just jump back in, but the exponentially growing minutiae of the magic system is a bit of a barrier.

Tallheart and Lilly seemed really closely bonded, so maybe they just have marriage/ceremonies/rituals that help along the process? Or maybe Cervidians just naturally develop linked souls easier? It’d explain why Tallheart is so prickly around new people, and only works with people he trusts. Maybe he doesn’t want to risk joining souls with just anyone, cause it’ll influence his personality??It’d also explain how quickly the three MC’s are soul bonding relatively quickly.

Grabbing all the seasons makes the most sense to me. It’s a cornerstone of his build, and I’m pretty confident there should be some hidden skills available. Or he could choose a skill that he believes will be easy to understand/dissect. Maybe it could help him figure out how skills are built/granted?

Can you copy paste the chapters onto patreon so that we don't have to download them?

It's a tough question for sure. A lot of this chapter really shows that the end game isn't even REALLY about fighting. Granny basically destroyed a ton of reality for basically no reason bc Lightbreaker just ascended within like a few days. Sure she's predicting they'll fall apart eventually as a society, but then ultimately, I think all the high levels agree there shouldn't have been a fight if no one really won. Rain usually won't rush skill points but I wouldn't put it past him to grab the rest of the seasons.

But what would Rain even skill? I think most skills are pretty useless for him. I guess it frees up Ameliahs skills, so she gets effectively 2 for each lvl? Even the defensive tier 4 isn't really usefull except fighting big bad guys, but only if there was no fighting leading up to it.

I only just noticed, but Reece complaining about Nem stealing her pose is pretty hypocritical, considering she stole Dozers pop noise while she taught Rain how to fix his paling.

Gang getting to level 37 with Unity... We are so back!

Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality. Red Rising Series. Both of these meet this somewhat when I thought about what you said.

Are the cervidians as a group tightly knit enough to share soul so intimately?

@SenescentSoul I just wanted to personally say thanks for continuing to provide chapters .. I really do love this story.

Tallheart is such a good friend
Kain
God damn it he’s already corrupted them so thoroughly and that’s without even showing them the media he’s referencing now Amelia and Tallheart will truly be lost. lol
Adam
And what about raising others they trust through this method like Jamus (assuming they rescue him).

Loved it. TFTC This means more than movies: TH can ‘see’ production methods, Amelia can show fighting styles, etc.

Oh right, before I forget: A skilled Seer can see ownership. Did Nem mean Reader or did he actually mean Seer, since it would also make sense and explain how they got divined? I am not 100% sure, because of the reading ownership discussion they had. Oh and since blue paling was "correct" then it follows logically that lair cores also count, since they can awaken as well. Touching on Tallhearts secrets is nice for the readers, but he might be kicking himself, because he could have come to the same conclusion by focusing on "things whos destruction awakens people" (edit: i am dumb. That's what he likely did as diversion. *facepalm*). Oh! On that note, can the sibling cores made by extract also awaked people?

This chapter felt like the heavy rain ending a dry season in the steps. I was exited. I laughed. I was gratefull for new information, both about people and the world. I am content. Not even looking forward to the next one, but just apreciating this one to the fullest. :) I also pretty confused halfway through, when i noticed that the warden was named as Nem, thinking that his name was accidentaly switched with the traders (Mlem?), untill i revisited the blue box summary. ^^'
Evil Legend
I get an unreasonable amount of pleasure from every hint that Tollhart has romantic relationships with Rain and Amelia. But ignoring the jokes about it, there are so few stories about intimacy and trust between two non-gay guys that every example in this story makes me feel amazing. Honestly, it’s so bad that the only story I can remember that has anything like it is Mother of Learning. And that’s it. Does anyone know any other stories like this?

Woo soul stuff chapter, this is what I keep coming back for :)

Also very exciting chapter! Glad to see things still moving right along!

Seems like it should follow all the properties of the hosts soul space, since those properties are a result of the contents and structure of that space?

So, would they actually benefit from dynamo speed? Or would the speed decrease since he’s hosting more minds?

Movie Night! At Dynao speed! Yay!!! Also tftc ❤️
