I like this format Beau. It catches me up on stories I’ve missed and I like to briefly hear your perspective on them. Well-done and keep up the good work!

Gov Kent said he was not going to allow the DA to be removed

That’s not really an option lol. Rental prices are pretty dumb and leaving my 1 year lease and picking up a new, more expensive one isn’t really possible. I don’t have family backing and I can’t just move wherever I want at least for the next 6 months to a year.

It’s just **some thoughts **

Move back.

It’s just **some thoughts** Y’all have a good day.

Do you happen to watch the YouTube channel Positive Leftist News? It’s a nice lil dose of happy …
InfamousK
It's a new feature and he asked for suggestions at the end of the video.

Born and raised in the South, but it had always been more decent sized cities. Moved to a small town for work at a close by hospital. I’m queer in ways that can be pretty obvious at times- any tips for how to not cause too many waves?
Annette Caamano
His ending is just fine as is.

I've been trying to find any update on Jackson MS being largely taken over by the state police but haven't seen anything on it. If you know of any update on that I'd be super interested.

The Russian Church has been overrun by the Gov’ment forever. It’s good to see some shake up, but remember Pussy Riot, and how much interest Putin took in their beef with how rotten the Church has stayed after the USSR breakup. IMHO

VICE NEWS, started off pretty great and flamed out because they tried to grow too Big and too Fast. IMHO PLEASE Continue to Pace Yourself Thanks for being an Anchor on reality to compare with other media organizations 👍❤️💥❤️👍

On Ryan Hall Y'all...I mentioned interviewing him for the way he rallies his community way back in the Twitter days. I'd still like to see that. I've been a member for a while, and we do show up.

Okay - just have them take away their caffeinated drinks.
Rob Jobin
Please make these into podcasts, they're long form enough for me to listen to while working.

I really like your format in general and this is a great addition to help us understand a wider variety of topics
Jurgen Gosch
I was with you up until #4. Come on now, Michael.

Proposed ending - "This might been a thought... Y'all have a good day."

Thoughts about Maui from a Realtor- 1. Boundary lines are going to be an issue with the fire. Surveyors will likely need a long time to establish and stake boundaries, which now have been blurred. 2. A lot of properties were multi family and multi generational. Who owned what would need to be established, perhaps lengthy time in court. 3. Missing people would need to be accounted for to clarify ownership All this will take some time perhaps years to sort out. Until then Developers would have an issue getting clear title even if there were a green light to sell.

I really wish anyone who threatens a juror, prosecutor, or judge would at LEAST receive an in-person visit from the police or FBI. Obviously, the problem with this is there are not enough police of FBI agents to actually make this happen. Failing that, at least send them an email including a summary of the threat and explaining that freedom of speech does not include the right to make terroristic threats and that threatening public officials is a federal crime. Then give them a response box that gives them a choice of 1) I was drunk. Sorry. 2) I am mentally ill. Sorry. 3) I need help. Please have a mental health professional contact me. Sorry. 4) I am a fucking idiot and think it is fine to not only threaten people but to attack them physically. Please send a SWAT team to take away my caffeinated beverages....

With regard to OpenAI producing "News content", you are correct that the algorithms scrape from existing data. However, the AI is capable of creating "new-ish" content by simply recombining bits and pieces in different ways. Remember, all the books ever written in English use pretty much the same set of words - just combined in different ways. Truth can definitely be a casualty of this process however, and I think THAT is the issue that worries the Times and others. AI-produced content can mimic real journalism with stunning accuracy (once edited and repackaged).

When talking about economic data, it's comforting to note that the rate of inflation is definitely down. We mustn't forget, however, that PRICES (which went up rapidly when inflation took off as Covid-19 restrictions were lifted) have REMAINED high - they're just not going up as fast. This means that people who were badly pinched by inflation and who haven't had the benefit of a corresponding increase in income remain materially worse off. Does this mean that Biden has done a terrible job and a Republican president would have done better? No, I don't think so. Income inequality demonstrably gets worse under Republican governments.

Beau, “…end of it’s tail.” or “…end of it’s tale.” It works either way. 8->

I'm into the new format and really enjoyed this. I now have a lot more stuff to read about. If I could make a request: I'm an anti-doomer stubborn optimist and I'm struggling (gestures vaguely to the world around me) so I will take all the good news I can get, no matter how small or how not-negative (i.e. a bad thing expected to happen, did not). Good news about anything: politics, science, libraries, education, the environment, social progress, billionaire trash talk, whatever. Thanks again. Appreciate you.

I like this - it's nice to have this channel for an overview and the other for deeper dives. Thanks as always for sharing your well thought out point of view!

Thank you!

I like it. It took a few bulletpoints to pick up the flow for when the next story was up, but I could follow it by the time I got to the Foreign Policy section.

As always, an enjoyable and informative platform. So grateful to be part of the patreon. I have had to stay out of your comment section on YouTube so I am grateful to be able to reach out here and express my gratitude. I rely heavily on your videos for honest and informed reporting seasoned with just the right balance of humor and snark. P.S. I like your usual sign off.
