Automatic Egg Collector

Silicone tubing is also required. 1/4" ID x 3/8" OD for the smaller collector or 3/8" ID 1/2" OD for the high flow uplift used by the larger collector.

Any chance you tested a version of the small egg collector with the silicone tube directed to a corner? (Instead of along a flat side) That might allow for a tighter fit into the corner of the aquarium and a better way to “hide” the hose that runs up to the tray.

In my testing I found a slope angle of about 35 degrees to be the minimum required to reliably collect a high percentage of eggs. This is 40 degrees. It is fairly tall but doesn't discourage the fish from spawning in it. I made a video about it if you want to learn more about why it's designed the way it is.

Printed the 6" version out over last two days. I went very slow and it worked great-thanks for the tip to lower the print speed for something I want to last a long time! At the risk of speaking up before trying it, I have a design question for you. I'm upgrading my CPD egg trap rig from a Rubbermaid sandwich container, craft mesh hot glued to lid, java moss on top system in a 10g tank to this. I find eggs seem to quickly settle into the little trough in the sandwich container, making them easy to find. This automatic design has a very steep slope to the inner cone which results in a pretty tall device. I'm sure my CPD's will find the moss up higher in the tank, but is the steep slope necessary? I'll be using a Fluval hang on box for now. Will be printing out a tray soon though. Would a lower profile with shallower slope still work? This is going to sit really tall in my 10g setup. Am I envisioning an issue that doesn't exist? Can't wait to try it out.

I made a lid for this with a 1" hole in the side, going to try this with petricola. I suck at modeling though and can't get the rounded edges right so I just made a square one, could you possibly model a lid with a 1" hole in the side for this?

The prints are geat thanks ,Is there a way to separate the base layer as I printed it two times and I can't get the base layer off the holes or a way to print it without the base layer,I'm using an ender 3 V3 I am assuming I had to be done somehow on the printer itself
