First it's so interesting that this history of Joel's is a new idea because it felt like there was a hint about it in the first game when he reunites with Tommy in Jackson. They argue about Tommy taking Ellie and Joel shoves Tommy back. Tommy says "We ain't back in Boston. You lay your hands on me again, it won't end well for you." It's vague, there are a lot of ways to interpret it. Maybe it's just about Joel being too connected in Boston for anyone to stand up to. I always suspected maybe it's not the first time he got physical to get his way and maybe there was abuse in their family. Either way, I appreciate their very complicated relationship in the game but I love the changes they made for the show. Anyway, it's been another emotional journey through Season 2 and I'm SO HYPED for the finale after the trailer!

Ellie was looking at actual fireflies in that flashback. You looking at the tree is funny though cause I was doing the same thing lol, trying to find if there is some pattern in the bark or something lmao
