I dream of Spider-Genie
🕑 Added 2025-04-18 17:56:08 +0000 UTCSo, I have had this comic (30 pages) more or less done for a year now, and it’s one of, if not my the best work I have done.
We have talked about trying to increase my production rate in the past to reliably get up to a page a week, however between juggling life and the 2 other jobs I have. I have found it difficult to reliably accomplish this.
That being said. I am considering hiring out some of the process to speed up production, and maybe try to evolve this into a proper studio in order to get a full page out a week!
That being said, I kinda wanted to open up some dialogue with you about this.
To clarify, I would hire maybe a colorist, and potentially someone to help ink or pencil. I would make sure that it matches my style by working with them and “training”.
If I do hire some help, they will be professionals, and may end up being better than me lol, which might be a little awkward haha
We would need to justify production increases by budget, so there might be some stretch goals that we introduce to make this possible
But anyways, that’s a whole lot ass novel you fellas had to read! Let me know your thoughts!

How focused on transformations would it be? Not gonna lie, Fantasy Island started off FANTASTIC...And then quickly moved into disappointing territory for me as the story rapidly moved away from what got me interested in the story to begin with (the total reality changes) and instead focused on the typical 'Peter and MJ basically role swap' story. Your art is AMAZING regardless of my disappointment however. It was the one thing I kept tuning in for even if the story turned into a dud for me. I get that stories absolutely need to have narrative structure but it was the same basic story that tends to happen in these kind of comics. I'm already not a huge Spider-Man fan to begin with, so Fantasy Island losing the one hook it had in me was demoralizing. I'd really only be interested in seeing more Spider-Man if we had a chance to revel in the transformations and possible reality changes more. And whatever suffering befalls the characters. More 'Peter and MJ love each other no matter their forms and realities' is not what I'm interested in seeing. Sorry if this is harsh, I've been stewing on my disappointment with Fantasy Island for a few months now.

Somewhat unclear I am actually completely redoing the current issue’s ending from page 18 on (and expanding it to 31 pages The next issue would normally start releasing after 2027 unless I can get some help with the art, which means that the Patreon would need to grow significantly to afford it
