Thanks for pointing them out. they have been corrected. the last one I changed to: "Heather’s opponent had strength on her side, and she knew how to use it. If her strikes hit the ground when she missed, the sword left a gouge in the hard earth" hopefully it clarifies it

Her strikes, when she missed, and the sword hit the ground, leaving [ replace with left] a gouge in the hard earth.” [The sentence is unclear, is it that Heather’s opponent had strength on her side and also knew how to use it? You used the word and, implying at least partial negation of the previous clause. Or is that Heather knew how to use her opponent’s strength against her opponent?
