Kind of.

Jesus Christ. This episode had me so stressed out. I’ll probably need to take a Xanax before I decide to watch it again. Gave the same energy as driving with a “Low Fuel Light” on

The front is already on bags, I just haven’t put the pump & controls in yet.

You mention how great the ride is, then you talk about bagging it. After the drive, any second thoughts?

I doubt they’ll all ever allow supercharging on something like this. Cruise control ABS and traction control would require wheel speed sensors and probably some other stuff, but I don’t imagine I’ll ever want that kind of stuff on this car

Do you know if you'll ever be able to Super Charge the car? I know Tesla has talked about opening up SC to other vehicles so maybe yours could count as that and not a totaled Tesla? Will you be able to gain cruise control, ABS, traction control or other driving aids (I know Auto-Pilot is out) with your current setup?

Damn, I got range anxiety just watching that! Whew!

I haven’t bought the plug for it yet :)

I probably could have crawled out the window

It is not

Really good information for my build. I would have never guessed the range dropped that much in another, less aerodynamic, vehicle. I will definitely be going with the long range battery for my build. What is limiting you from charging at a Level 2 charger currently?

I was watching thinking "turn the superbright headlights off if you're only next door to your own house" but then I saw what it took to turn them off..! 😀 If the contactors had opened just as you got through the gate, is there space to open the door when you're alongside the house or would you have been trapped, hoping the 'wait a while' trick worked one more time?

Outstanding. Nothing like limping home on nothing but three dodgy fixes using two zip ties and the Will to make it happen.

About 10 years ago me and a friend converted his s10 to electric after the engine gave up the ghost. Apparently they HAVE to run on oil for longevity.. who knew? 🤷♂️. He acquired a used forklift motor and just enough deep cycle batteries to fill under the hood and the extended cab portion. He figured he could use the bed later if he needed longer range. He figured eh 40ish miles should be around the max it could go. We went for a drive and right at the 25 mile distance the controller shut down. Checked the battery voltage and it was pretty much on minimum. For an hour we did exactly what you did, let it sit for 10 mins and turn everything back on. We were 2 miles from home. 1 hour later and 27.2 miles we ended up at the foot of his driveway and the truck said nope no more. We had to drag 120’ of extension cords and let it charge before he could drive it up to the garage. I think he ended up putting 4 extra batteries in the bed and got 30 miles and had to do the whole ordeal over again. But the truck couldn’t be used as a truck because any amount of weight and the truck would only go 10-15 miles at 20 miles per hour. Truck sat for a couple years before he sold it to a teenager lol. Good video and glad you made it home.

The headlight switch is still not in there, it it? 😂
Matt Brown
same size and I made it accessible, but it would still be a pain.

How much work would it be to put in a bigger battery? Are they the same size physically?
