Actually, someone (an aerospace engineering student) commented to say, "it is for stability in a stall-spin scenario, or rather, it prevents a stall spin from developing." It's good to know that Matt's car will not go into an aerodynamic stall-spin.

Dude, you are a nut. A heroic nut who does things I never will, but still a nut. I admire you for that. Also, the extra dorsal fin on aircraft just increases the area of the vertical stabilizer, AFAIK.
