Thanks for the chapter, liked the study group analogy!

This is how we find out the frontdoor hasn't been closed since. Berdol accidentally closes it and when it gets opened it lets out a rock concert level sound.

Michael Moreno

The Insulting door, it belittles you while notifing all denizens up to three rooms away.

Yeah, that does seem to be the model that the deep dungeon is following, that of a rancher. It reminds me of Leo's thoughts about how thediem runs things, the many rabbits vs few stags argument. The question is, will Thediem be able to reason with it? How aware is the deep dungeon anyway? Does it have a voice? Would it do things differently if it had a choice? Does it know it has a choice or another way to even get enough mana? Things could be a lot rougher down there mana wise.

I love the idea of a crab-operated Wipeout style challenge for Hullbreak. Great chapter!!

Thanks for the chapter! Would be fun to see what the other dungeons and their scions think of the tour!

There's also the fact that sacrifices while a large instant influx are not a sustainable thing due to constant mana expenditures and losses. It's why most empires have to constantly expand, it's the only way to get the resources they need to stay afloat, compared to smaller kingdoms that while seemingly less ambitious, would build and develop their holdings to properly sustain them.

The squeaky door is already SSS tier.

It really depends on how much mana the deep dungeon gets for each sacrifice, and how large their delver population is compared to Thedeim's. Still, in terms of consequences, I think the cows that know they're being set up for slaughter are more likely to rebel than the ones or the ones who know they'll be safe.

After reading about so many traps there is one thing I wanted to know since chapter two: What is the upgrade/final upgrade of the Squeaky Door?

Joshua James Feenstra

Ok, for the last sentence about sustainability, I feel he could be wrong there. Imagine both Thedium and the Deep dungeon as cattle farmers. Thedium is a dairy farmer. He milks each cow for more than the value just it's meat would provide. The deep dungeon however could have a full breeding population of cattle, where while it is less efficient than milking each being for it's worth, they are able to breed fast enough to keep up with the rate of consumption. It's awful, but it's possible. Also, depending on the size of the population of the "herd", Thedium could be in huge trouble picking a fight with this dungeon. Especially if he decides to make war on two fronts.

Errata: "I think, once the lighthouse is complete, I’ll let him try his hand..." - I keep stumbling every time I read this. I'd suggest moving "once the lighthouse is complete" to the beginning of the sentence. "... he can accomplish something similar, now he knows what to do." - should it read "now that he knows..."? "...maybe hide keys around that delvers would need to get at some treasure." - the phrasing feels a bit awkward to me, though I think it's just because my brain keeps trying to parse "need to get" as one grammatical unit (would this be a garden path sentence?). Unsure how best to fix it, if it even needs fixing. "... Hullbreak Will probably get there quicker. " - 'will' shouldn't be capitalized here, right? "I wonder if any of Hullbreaks advanced denizens..." should be "Hullbreak's".

I'm guessing that Violet sees inspiration from the hedge maze as way to challenge delvers more while still largely remaining passive, while Hullbreak sees it as a safer way to get mana from delvers.

Daniel

Thank you for the new chapter. Can’t wait to see the tour from the other dungeons perspectives
