No worries, it happens to me all the time, trying to analyze a render :) Though I cannot get credit for the modeling part, it's just a set from Daz3D. I imagine the author used splines to make the curtains - you just draw the zigzag pattern and then just "stretch" it up and down. And the one with the ribbon looks simply deformed in ZBrush.
