Dashole's Through The Looking Glass - Chapter 1
🕑 Added 2021-01-03 19:39:47 +0000 UTCHey, everyone.
A friend of mine named Dashole was working on something juicy in the last months and he wanted me to share it with you. He's been doing this for quite some time, but usually he works with an artist for the visuals. And I'm a big fan of his lewd comic books. This is his first solo project, and it is great. A lovely, but naughty little introduction of his sassy character, Alice. The guy's been using DAZ Studio for just a few months, but he's already making some gorgeous renders. And his writing is top shelf. On top of that he's a perv like me, so expect a lot of lewd content.
If you like naughty stories about sexy spies who get the job done no matter what, you will enjoy it. And for those of you who like Mr. Parker, this first chapter will click perfectly :P
Here's the Dropbox link where you can get the first chapter of the comics:
Through The Looking Glass - Gentlemen Prefer Blondes
It's a PDF file, if you don't see the text (there's a small A button on the images to show and hide it), use Adobe Acrobat on PC/MAC. Alaso set the DPI to 300 as suggested at the beginning, and put the reader in full screen mode.
Drop your feedback below, he'll love to hear from you.

Hey thanks for your detailed feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the dichotomy of the first chapter.

Really enjoyed the comic. A great start to the story and i hope to see more in future. Loved the character of Alice and hope to see how she develops. The way we saw her badass self as an assassin in the first scene, before transitioning to her more human side for the second half was a great contrast. I'm a big fan of old/young scenes to and Seymour was a very good addition. The fact he was shown in a realistic way, being a little to quick on the draw on both occasions was a nice touch, plus Alice's reactions to him were hilarious. Last thing i want to add is what a fantastic image the orange slice one was. So sexy!

Thanks for your suggestion! I used the most legible feminine font I could find. As a professional letterer, believe me I looked! XD As with most things, I have received varied responses to my choice of fonts. A lot of comic readers have commended my choices which (most non-native English speakers) have commented that it was hard to read. Bottom line - I cannot pick the most access-friendly font for a first-person narrated story. Alice's inner thoughts cannot read like it came from a typewriter. And as I said, I used the most legible feminine font available. All the others were waaay too cursive and not very well spaced out.

Great pictures, but i think the font is not the best for reading a text

Thanks for the suggestion! The thing is, a content's format is very much dependent on the vision of the creator. You have single player games with REALLY tight linearity (Last of Us) and big choice-driven multipathed games (Telltale's stuff). Comics are like linear games. If a creator's goal is to give agency to the player, then the choice aspect of games is the way to go. I'm not that guy as I'm a comics writer at heart. I have a very specific story I want to tell and just want the reader to experience my vision for the characters. Plus creating a comic and creating a game are two VERY different endeavors. Both take different skillsets and time investments. So you have to cater to what your skills are and what kind of time you have to invest. Thanks again for commenting and reading my comic!

Thanks, man!

Excellent beginning.

These pictures are great, but I think it would be better if you could make an Android game. After all, reading alone is not as good as the game experience

"dashole" sounds familiar but can't remember what work it was that I heard that name from.

It's just a comic book series, not a game. But I appreciate the vote of confidence! Like I mentioned to someone else on here, I'm probably not ever gonna get a Patreon page as I enjoy being able to produce without pressure. But stay tuned for future chapters!

Awesome!! Iโm willing to be a patron.. if he starts to upload the game.
Dashole
Thanks for the suggestion. I did think about it but a Patreon crowd would create expectations. I like having no pressure to produce at a pace or style that might burn me out. As stoper and other creators on Patreon would tell you - it is a lot of stress. This is just a hobby of mine and I'm happy people get to enjoy my work. That's satisfaction enough! :-)

Very good, dare to create your own patreon profile, a renpy of this quality will be as successful as Stoper

Thanks for your kind words. I appreciate it!

Thanks, man! Yeah, I'm definitely well into the scenes for the next installment, but there are more technical challenges (explosions and gunfire) that I gotta figure out. Stay tuned!

That was actually pretty impressive. Basically a play by play as it would be in a game version. I actually enjoyed it quite a bit, thanks for sharing ๐๐

WOW. It's captivating. Can't wait for chapter 2 :)

Thanks, man! Much appreciated!

Enjoyed it. Really good for a first effort!

A PDF allows me the flexibility to offer my 3D art frames without the text blocking any of it. You just have to hit the "A" button to turn the text block on and off.

You mean compared to a VN like Hard News? I think that's just because you're used to the format. Put the reader in full screen and it's pretty similar.

In PDF form is a bit weird..... Doesn't work great. Just images works better?
