This really sounds like the best, and most versatile idea I have heard so far!

Phillip Kaufman

How long does the signed sol ring take to get to me anyone know?

David Bouvier

Any rating system that is solely based on individual cards is insufficient to express the competitive characteristics of a deck in any format. The power of a deck is rooted in the synergy between cards and can only be described through statistical analysis on the probabilities of achieving the various synergies in the deck design. Generative AI, which is inherently mining data for patterns, could be a good tool to use in building an analysis tool to characterize competitive aspects of decks.

I disagree on the ban list part, though. As you said, when you open a cool card, you want to be able to play it, and I really want to keep playing my Lost Caverns Mana Crypt, even if it means the deck is instantly pushed to cEDH tier.

I was skeptical until you said it's a point system with no point limit. I LOVE that idea! :D

I think the point system is an excellent idea Prof! I also think that a multiplier can be assigned to some cards like some commanders if they are the commander and/or for fast mana rocks.

Coomer

good job on this system proof, if somebody does make a unofficial guide for the point system i'd love to use it in my pod.

I've been trying to make a point-based system like you describe for years, even just for describing power levels accurately with my local folks. I started with the point values from Canadian Highlander, and branched out from there. Hearing some of my own stuff come out of your video was EXTREMELY gratifying, as I respect the vast majority of your takes on the format. Cheers!

I am excited to see the tier system. It will be a fun deck building session/challenge to decide what tier I want each of my decks to be in. I hope it will also give my weaker decks more breathing room.

Anthony Ganci

I think a point system is the best solution
