I liked Clark learning to become Superman. That’s where I felt that the film was the most alive. How about actual personal moments where Superman feels like Superman, or characters have normal conversations? The script is so formless. We just go from one scene to the next, without even so much as a proper external or internal development. No, peppered-in flashbacks aren't enough. I guess that’s the “Snyder magic.” I was quite positive about it when I first saw it, but over the years its effects have worn me on.

-What's your favorite scene or moment in Man of Steel? Hard to choose. Probably the battle in Smallville (shallow, I know.) -What main thing would you change about the movie? This film has like, 3 climaxes. 2 would already be excessive, but even that would have made it way more watchable. -What surprised you most when you first saw it, positive or negative? How fantastic Michael Shannon was at Zod.
