Company Challenge: US Mixed Company is out for Patrons!

A very streamlined run, though the armoured counterattack/CRP element at the end is clearly not posing a challenge. Maybe a couple of tank platoons would make for a more serious threat...
Anyway, with that out of the way the path is clear onto the War Room for next week. Should be good to get away from CM for a bit.

Having those M60 assets made the attack that much easier for the US Mech Coy. I may be missing it, but it seems mortar usage has been surprisingly light in both of your playthroughs. I might have put all their ordnance on either Alpha or Charlie objectives to soften the initial assault. You know, spend a couple turns or so letting the barrage do its work, then go in. Maybe lay that barrage pre-start on Bravo and let it run out in time for the final assault. Nothing like direct fire cannon though. Incidentally, Red Thunder sadly doesn't allow for on-map deployment of artillery guns for Soviets. That's a game changer too and quite historical. Hopefully, CM3 will rectify that down the line. The FSE deployment you have planned for the Soviets looks good. That could easily be the composition of a battalion's forward detachment(FD) as well. The difference would be the FSE was tasked to the main body's immediate advance per se, while the FD was tasked to a more extended exploration of exploitation.

Was bingereading DePuy a while ago. According to his Active Defense the big idea is to concentrate forces against where the Soviets concentrate their forces. In his doctrine it also mentioned the mixed company
