Rogue-Like update, 4/18
🕑 Added 2015-04-18 07:39:04 +0000 UTC Ok, so this week I've put a lot of effort into the doggy-style scene, and done a couple of cool things with it. For one, I was able to figure out a way to add limited skin coloring on Zero. Default is still green, but I've added black and white skin colors as options. I'm still debating whether you'll have to earn those (as in his default mutant skin color is green, but as you learn to control your powers you can revert to your "original" coloring). The second thing is that I've added animations to it. It's not like fantastic animation or anything, Renpy does not support that well, it's basically just moving Zero back and forth a little. ;) Hopefully it'll entertain though. My plans for the next week or so is to continue to add new scenarios, and also to go back in and add some new elements to the base sprite, stuff I either forgot to add or have figured out a better way to do it since the last major sprite pass.Comments

This is just a development update. There isn't a new version out to play, and don't expect one for a while yet. I wanted to get an early version out there so that people would be aware that I'm working on it and basically how it would "feel," but now that that's done, I don't want to release anything until I have a relatively feature complete "game." That means a full story mode for Rogue on par with at least Akabur's Witch Trainer or so. Then a little bit out from that I'd release the Kitty update, then later the next character, and so on, alongside gradual improvements to the core game and previous characters. So there's still a bit of work yet before that's ready. I could just keep releasing tiny patches of the uncoordinated bits and pieces I have ready right now, but that would be a bit like having a movie where you release new trailers of the coolest scenes that eventually give away most of it. ;) I want players to have to earn the really cool stuff in the game itself, rather than just handing it out in this simplified format. I just hope that the final version I release will be of a high enough quality to justify the wait.
