Notice About Novembers PSR Submissions (Please Read)
🕑 Added 2024-10-26 05:43:49 +0000 UTCSo what's this about you're probably all wondering, well to put your mind at ease, first and foremost yes the submissions will still be on, so you can stop worrying about that aspect, however... this one is going to be a bit more stricter than any others that have happened before, what does that mean... I shall explain.
November's PSR's will be a themed round, and before you think "I don't care about those and I'll just submit my own idea cause they're optional" this one is not, it will be a mandatory theme, so if you are submitting a request for that month it will need to follow the theme to be approved for sketching...
Now I can see you all picking up your torches and pitchforks but you can put those down cause it's not that type of theme like Skunktember, this one is something of my own creation which I'm calling
"NEWvember"
What's that you all cry from the masses, well it's very simple actually, submissions have to be new ideas, so no continuations or sequels to previous created psr's/commissions or the like.
So submissions will need to be original ideas, simple... now that happens monthly I know, but this coming November I wanna see everything new
Now there's obviously going to be some allowances and restrictions about this so let's go though those now, as somethings will be allowed and others will not, let me explain
Slice of Life based stories like Kelly Cougar and CameraGuys alternate reality are not allowed as anything drawn for those type of stories are going to be seen as continuations and sequels
New stories featuring established oc's and other characters are fine
Continuation of external stories i haven't created or partaken in are fine
New stories featuring altered designed oc's and characters that i've done are not allowed, as these well be seen as continuations and sequels (example Ash in the Lucario suit)
That pretty much sums up the allowances and restrictions and limitations as most things will full under those elements, but what will happen if you ignore this theme and submit a continuation regardless... also a simple answer... it will be skipped... no if's, ands or buts
Right that pretty much covers what i wanted to say about the next round for the PSR submissions, and I 'm going to say you've probabaly got some questions relating to the above you'd like clarified, so feel free to make a comment to this post and i'll clarify, please comment and not DM me so others can see your question or clarification too as they my have the same question, if i get a lot I may also create an FAQ posting too, but we'll see how we go with that one
But just to recount the above,
It'll be a mandatory themed submission round, new ideas only, no continuations or sequel based submissions will be accepted...
But that's all i wanted to say about next months PSRs so lets see what will come from that this shall we... dun dun dahh....

stories are generally more fleshed out ideas were as a prompt is more of a briefer snippet of an idea open to more interpretations that a fleshed out story, regarding where this will take place, it will be part of the psr submission round coming soon this month

next month's PSR, aka November, hence the "New" to it. And well as explained by him, no prompts be something new. Like take Ash from Pokemon for example. You can have done something new TF wise on them, but it can't be a sequel or something connecting to previous works like the Lucario suiting that's been done for some months now, or Nidoqueen, but say if you were asking for them to be turned into Salazzle, that'd be a new prompt in spite of featuring the same character on it. Or it'd be like a completely original idea of course which would be easiest to do. At least that much for starters, guess can still add to it if needed, but before ending up too confusing on it guess will leave it at that for now, hope it's been somewhat helpful for starters. ^^;

Maybe I have a weird way of looking at things , but aren't those the same thing ? And Where are we supposed to do that? Is that coming up soon ?

you don't need to brainstorm a story, just a new prompt for something new that's not a continuation or a sequel to an image that's already been created by me

it's more on the line of opening the door to new idea and stories as well as giving those that have other ideas sitting there an additional push to use those ideas instead of having the same one resent each round, so it's just to esscentially force the element of variety into the mix i guess would be the best way to but it, as well as it's a theme i came up with so i wanna see if it sticks with others and they adopt it :3

I imagine referencing old themes or characters is probably more time consuming and less interesting then working on something you haven't seen before.
