Personally, I think for unimportant NPCs it'd be just fine. I'm fairly certain you aim to have commissioned things for all of the other NPCs, given how the rest of the game has been so far.

Honestly, I would be disappointed if you chose to start using AI art. I feel it would make an indie project like this lose some of it's charm.

I don't see problem with using AI art in this case. As Beastmachine mentioned , he can replace AI art with real art in the future.

These are great! I think AI is a tool like any other, and have zero qualms with creators using it. I use AI image generators quite often, and tailoring the output to what you want is a skill and takes practice like anything else.

If this becomes a thing for this game then I will no longer support you. I will never accept the use of Ai generated images with no exceptions.

I morally can't support the use of AI. It's taken jobs and stolen assets from dear friends of mine. I understand the reasoning for using it, but I just can't. I'm sorry.

I'm sorry, mate, but it's sadly the future... and you can't stop it. To ignore it is to repeat what happened to the artisans during the Second Industrial Revolution, to become worthless.

You could use the AI art as placeholders and then replace them with real art when you get the chance.

I think for side characters or unimportant NPCs/enemies ai art is fine.

I can understand why people do not like AI art and don't disagree with some of the points. It has been heavy on me debating wither or not to add this sort of art to the game. One of the larger reasons I want to go this route is mostly to save time since I'm very busy IRL and this would help going forward. I still do want to support the artists I've worked with as well as community artists and will continue to commission them.

I somewhat understand the reasoning, but I absolutely refuse to allow this. AI art only serves to replace and destroy and replace real art and I will not stand for it
