Because of how powerful his techniques are and the fact that he’s allowing everybody to use them, not just cloud sect. It would probably feel like a betrayal for all the help they’ve given him from the leader’s perspective.

I would have loved to live in a world where elements of surprise can coalesce into a sentient haze, in a vague shape of a jack-in-a-box that causes surprises with it's passing... Ohhh, and it apparently ends wars.
