idk why everyone says there's no battling in let's go pikachu and let's go eevee, my girlfriend insisted the same thing recently even though she played through it when it came out. There were still trainer battles, you just didn't battle wild pokemon, they gave wild pokemon interactions the pokemon go ball throwing mechanics, but gym and trainer battles still fully existed.
