Even tho Sony has been doing it for quite some time now. NOT defending Nintendo BTW, genuinely just think it's an interesting phenomenon, cuz this isn't the first time something like this has happened- (Nintendo doing something that a competitor has been doing, but most people discover it through Nintendo and they receive backlash.) Also, the cartridges will be able to hold up to 64GB of storage so some games will be fully on the cartridge still but not all. I think Sega has said that all their physical releases on Switch 2 will be the cart with just the license to the digital version.

Aiden is wrong about the licensing of the games. The cartridge has the license for the game on it. You can sell the game to someone else and now they have the license and you don’t anymore. It’s how it already works basically. The only change is the cartridges that won’t have the game files on them so the card will be a physical license for a digital copy of the game which you could also sell but with that you’re relying on the servers staying up so you can download the game.
