Starbucks does not roast their coffee with sugar and they have their own brand of nondairy milks but not of regular milk, but their syrups are very concentrated and their iced coffees come standard with classic syrup which is just a regular simple syrup (edit: used to and in licensed stores some people may still do it the old way bc their training is often super skipped over)

SYSCO commercial grade milk is sweeter than normal store milk. So if that's what Starbucks use then they don't add sugar but the milk they use is sweeter by default and Starbucks does use 2% unless you ask for something else which has more sugar than potentially whatever milk you use at home depends though; 2% is the most popular but 1% and skim sell a lot too. Also if the drink you get uses steamed milk that also makes it taste sweeter, because steaming breaks down some of the lactose into simpler sugars that taste more sweet to humans, they aren't actually sweeter in terms of sugar but they taste sweeter. Also also cross contamination is the more likely cause than the milk, even if you don't get a drink with syrup they don't clean all the wands and whatnot between each usage so you can get extra sugar from that.

this is minutia but slime and ludwig are wrong about what determinism is. they’re confusing determinism, which is the idea that all actions and events are necessitated by a something which occurred prior to said event, with predeterminism which is the belief that all events have been predetermined usually in a theistic context. while this seems like a dumb distinction it is genuinely quite meaningful in philosophy. also, there are arguments that the two boil down to the same roots, but historically speaking there is a fairly distinct difference in connotation. also not everyone that doesn’t believe in free will is a determinist.

Thinking a company like Starbucks would use their own branded milk instead of whatever slop comes from SYSCO is hilarious. No one sees the milk. They ain't spending the extra money to secret add more sugar when humans are inherently addicted to the syrups they add.
