the way aiden describes feeling about the space he works in happens with anyone pursuing anything ever. like i work in the legal field and am also increasingly disgusted with Ways Things Work, but it's really just a function of spending more time in some insular space where things that are insignificant to outsiders are a big deal to insiders. i have no idea who or what the pirate software thing is and dont keep up with twitch gamer world, and maybe that's of some comfort - the dude working at the grocery store down the road is also disgusted and jaded with his store's new policy or whatever... doesnt mean the whole world is awful because of it. those feelings are all just part of experiencing your world and community... things will be fine generally

I cant believe anyone still uses twitter anyway. ESPECIALLY streamers for engagement, they are only hitting the US on twitter, and even then only 30% of Americans. The biggest usage countries are the US and Japan and every other country doesn't even use it (less than 5% of the global population uses twitter)...not to mention 99% of the users are bots now. I wouldn't even have got it at all if it wasn't for US streamers insisting on using it for updates but I didn't last long because it's just an endless feedback loop of rage baiting bots and well meaning autists who don't realise they are arguing with bots.
