🕑 Added 2023-12-22 03:52:43 +0000 UTCI would like to share what I have been doing this month. The fact is that I got my first VR headset in my hands. This is a very cool thing. Of course, after the first standard games, Beatsaber and SuperhotVR demo, I decided to watch videos in it, both regular and 18+.
In general, watching a regular video in VR is already an unusual experience, but if you watch a stereoscopic video (a separate picture is created for each eye), then it really looks incredible. The effect of presence is very strong, as if you were in the same room. I really want to try to create something similar. This means that the next big animation will be made in stereo mode for viewing in VR.
[Don't worry, if you don't have a VR, there will be a version with a regular camera, or you can watch it on your phone by rotating the camera. But the best experience will be in VR.]

In the video you can see my tests and attempts to understand the process of creating stereo. However, the recording was done with only one eye in a VR helmet, so you can't see that most of the pictures are out of focus, with the wrong perceptual perspective or scale. Also, because one eye, there is no 3D effect.
At the moment, the environment and some initial animation are ready. Next year, I will post small pieces of WIP animations for viewing in VR and without.
Anyway, the new year is coming soon. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to you for your incredible support last year. Without you, this journey would not have been as exciting and bright.
