“What is out there, beyond the sea?”
Quick flashes: Diana spars with another Amazon; their bracers clash, creating an explosion of energy. Diana wins, wide-eyed at her power.

Diana walks with Queen Hippolyta through the lush courtyards of Themyscira.
HIPPOLYTA
“The world of man is not like ours. It is cruel, brutal… and broken. We guard what they must never get their hands on.”
Cut to: Disturbances across Themyscira. Magical wards flicker. Shadows loom. Steve Trevor’s aircraft spirals through the sky and crashes into the ocean.

Shots: Diana finds Steve and interrogates him. Meanwhile, Paula von Gunther (Charlize Theron) stands confidently aboard a large ship.
STEVE
“They’re called Leviathan. I tracked them here.”

An explosive battle erupts on the Themysciran beach: Amazon warriors vs. Leviathan soldiers. Diana helps Steve to his feet.
DIANA
“If the world is in danger… I must go.”

“If there is even a chance to stop this… I have to try.”

Cue uplifting music. Diana steps into the modern world: Times Square’s lights reflect in her eyes as she tries on clothes in a department store, with Etta Candy helping her. She marvels at escalators, honking taxis, and children.

Quick, intense montage:
Diana deflects bullets in full armor.
Leviathan drones swarm over a city.
Etta punches a soldier in the face.
Paula stands in a dark chamber, lit only by flame.
PAULA
“To rebuild the world… it must first be burned clean.”

Paula and Diana face off.
PAULA
“Why would an Amazon fight for man’s world?”
DIANA
“Because even in their darkest moments… I still see light. You see weakness; I see hope.”
Cut to: Diana fighting with unmatched fury against tanks, drones, and soldiers—her lasso glowing as she deflects blasts in midair.
Montage:
Explosions rock the desert.
Diana soars through the air, sword raised.
Steve and Etta exchange fire with Leviathan soldiers.

Music shifts to a lighter, whimsical tone. Diana holds up an ice cream cone, eyes wide with wonder. She takes a lick, pauses—then suddenly hugs Etta.

“I didn’t know the world of man had access to ambrosia!”

“Oh, honey… wait till you try pizza.”

I looked away from my phone. The reaction to the Wonder Woman trailer had been overwhelmingly positive—exactly what I’d hoped for. There were a few skeptics, of course, but I was confident the finished product would blow them away.
I put the phone down, my hands stiff from the cold. I curled my fingers around a steaming cup of coffee and took a long sip. The set of The Revenant stretched out around me—snow, mud, fire, and all. It had been three months since shooting began, and the signs of a ballooning budget were already evident.
Good thing I’d planned for it.
Alejandro was walking toward me, bundled up in his coat, his eyes narrowed against the wind.
“Do you think we can shoot today?” I asked, standing up and brushing the frost off my sleeves.
“Yes,” Alejandro said, nodding slowly. “Let the sun be almost down. The fire will hit just right then.”
I looked past him, toward the huge blaze being prepped by the crew. The flames crackled high.
“Leo’s going a bit crazy,” Alejandro added, almost casually. “He hasn’t eaten anything for a day.”
“Nothing?” I asked, surprised.
“Nothing,” he confirmed. “He wants it to look as realistic as possible.”
I snorted into my cup. “Let’s hope he doesn’t throw up on the first bite, then.”
Alejandro chuckled and folded his arms. “By the way—I’ll send you the finished script for Birdman next month.”
I shook my head. “No need to rush.”
“No, no,” he insisted. “I want to get started on that as soon as we wrap here. I don’t like to sit still for too long.”
“You’re crazy, my friend,” I said with a laugh. “Just don’t raise the budget again.”
Alejandro smiled like a man who’d already done it. “Art requires patience… and time.”
“Yeah, well,” I muttered, “let’s make sure it doesn’t spend all of my money.”
I walked across the muddy, snow-dusted set, my boots crunching in the half-frozen ground. The air reeked of smoke and damp pine. I found Leo exactly where I figured he’d be—hunched near the props table, staring down at a tray of raw liver like it had personally wronged him.
He looked pale, even beneath the grime and fake blood smeared across his face for the scene.
The man had done a lot for me lately. When the Margot PR crisis hit, he stepped in with his connections, working alongside my team to make sure the whole thing was buried. The last few weeks had been a master class in carefully curated recovery—positive PR for Margot flooded everywhere, and the negative stories were all but forgotten. But there were still issues coming from an unexpected source: Joanna, of all people. That would be difficult to deal with, especially since our fandoms were so closely linked.
I stopped beside him. “How you doing?”
Leo looked up slowly, eyes locked on the liver. “If this doesn’t get me one, I’m done with acting,” he muttered, standing with a groan and cracking his neck.
“You’re getting it,” I said confidently. “Next year. It’s yours.”
He didn’t smile, just gave me a simple nod. “That matter settled?”
“We’re working on it,” I said, not needing to clarify.
Leo looked at me and nodded again. “She’s good. Your partner. Hope she doesn’t get cast down by some jealous assholes.”
Before I could respond, one of the crew members ran over. “Mr. DiCaprio, we’re ready.”
Leo exhaled through his nose, squared his shoulders. “Let’s do this.”
“Good luck,” I said.
He trudged off toward the camera setup as the crew scrambled into position. I moved behind the monitor, slipped on a headset, and watched through the feed as the scene began to unfold.
Leo—no, Hugh Glass—dragged himself across the frozen ground, every movement filled with desperation and raw pain. He collapsed beside Hikuc, the Pawnee survivor, and rasped something unintelligible. Hikuc looked at him, then tossed him a strip of raw liver.
No dialogue. Just the crackle of the fire behind them, smoke coiling into the fading dusk light. Both men bit into the liver.
It was visceral. Visually stunning. Smoke and shadow, flickering flame reflected in their eyes. Every frame resembled a painting of suffering and survival, rendered in blood and ash.
And, yes—it was disgusting as hell to watch.
I took a long sip of my now-cold coffee and exhaled slowly.
Here’s hoping the Oscar campaign runs as smoothly as it did in my last life. But then again, this movie—this entire production—had made a few enemies. Some powerful ones.
