Going for a bit more subtle and less intense shading, and also this weird thing that other artists do.
I don't really know if there's a term for it, it's like directionless lighting or front lighting.
I always keep the light direction in mind in my usual artworks while renderin',
doing this is odd but there's that weird charm to it :o

It looks great in my opinion, but your heavier shading style was a touch more eye catching and really stood out. π

If I may be so critique. Your intense shading was kinda your thing. And it made it stand out from the rest. Doesn't mean you can do this sort of shading. I just mean it just feels off. It looks good tho. But I do think your previous shading looked better.
