Sorry for the odd double post today, but I wanted to keep this topic seperate from the previous post. According to the doctors my mother is on her final hours/days, she will likely likely leave us this weekend, or early next week. Now, this hasn't come as a shock to us, since she's been suffering from Alzheimers disease for more than a decade, she has slowly been fading away. If anything it's a relief that her suffering soon will be at an end. People tend to associate the disease with forgetfulness, but that's only the early "benign" part. Later on more and more parts of the body starts to shut down and wither away. It's a disease I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy.
I will be travelling to my parents home tomorrow morning (we live about 900km apart), and will likely be staying there until after the funeral. I'll continue to work on the update whenever I can, but since I'll be working from my laptop, I won't be able to finish the remaining cutscene imagery for a while. My goal is to still release something this month, but at the moment I'm not sure how much I will get done in the next couple of weeks. But I will make sure to keep you posted as best as possible.

My mom suffers from alcohol related dementia caused by longtime excessive drinking. It's depressing to think that if she hadn't been drinking so much, she otherwise could have been in decent health right now. Don't worry about the game and take your time.

Sorry to hear that man. My aunt and grandpa were taking really quickly years ago, so we hadn't the time to come to terms with it then. At least you had the time to get ready. Hopefully it's peaceful when the time comes. And take as much time as you need.

I've seen it many many times. Dementia is a long goodbye, you lose them piece by piece. Eventually death is a friend that comes to put an end to hopeless suffering. Relief is a common response to a loved ones passing after such a prolonged suffering. Take some time to process, it's a complicated knot of emotions to untangle.

"Liking" this post doesn't feel right. I was in a similar situation about a year and a half ago, when my father passed. :-( Take however much time you need. I can only speak for myself, but I would not be upset if the update isn't finished this month.

I think you've earned the benefit of the doubt that in your time of grief to not stick to a schedule or force yourself to work on a game in the final days of your mother's life. Spend time with family, grieve, and come back when you're ready. Anyone who would say otherwise sucks.
