Now that the Vix/Tabufa update is released, I'm sure you are wondering what's up next?
First I will probably release a v3.62 in a week, or so. This won't have any new content compared to 3.61, just a few bugfixes and a couple of minor QoL improvements.
Then it's on to the next mayor update, v3.71. Development of the game has been going on for quite some time now, 8-ish years I believe. It's also become rather large over the years. A couple of years ago I exceeded the limit the game editor allows for the number of events in the main data file (1000). Luckily I found a way to trick the editor by adding more events via a text/script-editor. Currently I'm at around 1700 events. However the last 10-12 months I've been experiencing crashes upon saving my changes. Although it sucks losing your work, the loss can be reduced by saving often. The really concerning part is that the editor will sometimes wipe the main data file completely clean upon crashing. Essentially deleting the entire game. To combat that I make manual backups of the main file several times a day, but I am worried that there will come a day when it becomes impossible to continue adding more content.
Therefore I will focus on the two mayor open storylines (the baron and the main Qetesh/Nergal story) for now. Then we'll see how many more side-stories the editor will let me add. Eventually everythings has to end, but I can always start working on PQ2.
The next step towards the Baron's story is Daiyu (the shopkeeper in Greyport). Which will be the main focus for version 3.71. I'm currently not sure yet if I will solely focus on Daiyu, of if I may also do a scene or two for some existing characters, but I'll probably know more next week.
Oh, yes. To my dear Nergalites, I'm sorry I've been rather lacks at posting the high def images lately (was a bit too stressed with finishing the updates). I will upload them soon.

As others have noted: if the engine is reaching its limit I'd be completely fine with a quick wrap-up and part 2.

Quest: A Play in the tower of dread fails to load img and crashes the game... Then tried to load my saves in the resent version of the game - but it is the same! Also experience random crashes/Freeze going from one area to another!

Honestly wouldn't mind at all if you wrapped things up for PQ. There's so much to do already, and the earlier parts of the game are showing their age compared to your more recent work. With the experience you now have, a PQ2 would probably be an even better game than PQ! Maybe what happens in the port town could set us up for a seafaring adventure in the sequel...

It's okay, we can have second title instead off putting everything in the same game. (I believe we can use export savefile to link both together instead) Or make non-main story content a fellow mods instead.

Absolutely this right here. You've breached the original limits and are now approaching a point where the game's stability itself is at risk. Figure out how to wrap up the existing threads, especially as it pertains to the main story as it is now. If you feel you have much more story to give, don't let anyone stop you. Just figure out how to roll things forward to a sequel if there are things that cannot be resolved in this one. Things that can wait: Sure, get us to mee Madam Daiyu, but hold off on a deeper story regarding her for another game. And what of the northern part of Freeport? Will we finally go there as part of the beginning of some greater adventure? And what of Naamah's "seedpod" in the top of the tower? Will whatever is in there need time to grow before it becomes truly important? Just thoughts I felt worth consideration.

Yeah, I think it is probably time to think about how to conclude the game soon. More is nice but not at the danger of loosing it all or ending up with a very unstable product. Plus as you say you can always start work on PQ2 instead.

When this game is complete it'll definitely be regarded as one of the best finished adult games available. All good things must end, but looking forward to seeing what you create after even if it ends up not being a sequel!
