Oh and one more thing - Ashleigh not sure if you caught it (you didn't say anything) but Benoit Blanc has a husband named Philip. He was played by Hugh Grant -- he opened the door when Helen first arrived, covered in flour as though he was in the middle of baking bread -- a tip of the hat to that time during lockdown when everyone decided to learn to bake bread.

The best running joke in the movie is "that guy" who's just hanging out on the island - is COVID-19. He walks in and out of shots with a bottle of CORONA in his hand, saying things like "Just ignore me" and "Pretend I'm not here." It's a perfect snapshot of a moment, when regular people had to mask up and isolate while the ultra-rich did whatever the fuck they wanted and "apologized" after, maybe, if they got caught -- basically pretending it wasn't there.

The 3rd Benoit Blanc movie is coming out later this year. Jeremy Renner is gonna be in it, which makes me wonder if he'll be playing himself because of the hot sauce.

You've seen Janelle Monae before, who is also a musician, as one of the three leads of Hidden Figures. You didn't recognize Gillian Flynn's name, but she is the author of the novel Gone Girl, the movie of which you should definitely watch on the channel. What a ride that will be. One thing you don't seem to have picked up on that Miles Bron is pretty obviously based on Elon Musk.

Speaking of mysteries, just a reminder about "The Thin Man." Based on the novel by Dashiell Hammett (who also wrote "The Maltese Falcon") it stars William Powell (who I imagine could get it) and Myrna Loy (who absolutley could get it). Also, there's a dog.

It's worth continuing to wear that mask you found as masking can prevent COVID (which is still around and quite bad), RSV and flu (which are apparently especially bad this season), and...walking pneumonia. I have double-masked in public places since 2020 by necessity since I'm immunocompromised and a single bout of COVID could kill me, and I haven't gotten anything else in that time either.
