Let's talk about it. The WB had to step in for this episode because they deemed it way to dark to air on their network. Originally it was titled "Corrupt." Kate was still an undercover cop, but she was undercover as a prostitute. She also had a severe addiction to crack. The WB stepping in early on episode 2 made the entire series have a trajectory change.

For the most part it was Buffy, then Angel, alternating eps, for the first two seasons. But then in Season 6 Buffy moved to a new network. Angel, Season 3, premiered first. A few eps aired before Buffy Season 6 premiered. Since they were on different networks, it was a bit sporadic. Sometimes one show would be on hiatus for a few weeks while the other one kept airing. Some of the guides are really crazy, so I don't recommend following them. However, there are certain episodes that really should be watched before others or you'll get REALLY spoiled and it would ruin the experience for you. I hope you have somebody to look into that for you.
