Yeah... They were both genuinely happy, and then Angel felt he had to give it up in order to stay relevant, and so that both of them could help humanity and fulfil their duties, and not die when the "End of Days" period is over. It's a simple concept, and in the hands of a lesser director, it would have been clichรฉ. But with these two, and with Whedon... I still cry every time I see Angel looking at that broken clock. Which is why I was always a little sad when you belittled Angel's love for Buffy on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. You can see here how good they would have been for each other, if the stars had aligned differently... He certainly made mistakes in their relationship, and so did she; but each of these two, Angel and Buffy, were doing what they believed in. What they thought was right. And both were looking for... love. That's what makes them a couple I will never forget.

Such a beautiful episode. It breaks my heart seeing Buffy so happy and in love for it to be taken away from her yet again. Angel didnโt have any other option though. Ugh..Feeding each other chocolate and peanut butter and licking the ice cream was couple goals. ๐

It's not orgasms that make Angel lose his soul. It's Joss Whedon subverting fairytales the way he loves to do. True love can break curses. In Angel's case, that's a bad thing.
