Hotdog roasts over the fireplace and cuddling to keep warm by firelight? Sounds romantic. I'd say marshmallows but that'd be terrible to clean up if it falls off the stick. Silver linings Ashleigh. The typewriter ribbon carries the ink. The physical keys lever up when you press the keyboard, pressing the ribbon into the paper - leaving the ink in the shape of a character. We're stuck with QWERTY keyboards still today - because in ancient times you needed to space the popular keys (yunno - like "a", "e" "i" and so on) across the board so the levers wouldn't stick together. Why do we use it today? Same reason our autos and railroad cars have wheels with the same spacing as Roman chariots. We're stuck with it.
