A question for you - Poll + Hold sneak peeks
🕑 Added 2025-03-09 13:40:21 +0000 UTCSo I'm currently sitting on a lot of animations for SW. We have a lot of stuff set up and ready to go, but we're bottlenecked on how fast we can release holds due to the process of adding voice acting to them.
Writing the documents with instructions for the VAs for each hold, writing the lines, casting VAs, waiting for their samples, choosing, waiting for them to finish recording 200+ lines, doing revisions, editing the audio, organizing it and adding it to the game and testing + further revisions after testing... That's more or less the process for voicing one character for professional-like results, and you have to double it since you need to do all this for both aggressor and victim for every hold.
Needless to say, it's a slow process, I'm still trying to get used to it.
So here's my question: Would you guys like me to release holds faster without the voice acting and then have the voice acting added to them whenever I manage to get it ready, or would you rather I wait until everything is ready to release the holds?

I wonder how the pov will work for some holds like the toes one.. we wont see anything? lol An idea I had but idk how feasible it is but maybe add some sort of mirror in the room so we can see the holds in 3rd person while being in 1st? or something like that lol unless you placed the camera in a certain way so we still see stuff then disregard my comment lol! also no VA as a start is fine! Nice work :)

I certainly understand wanting to ship a complete feeling product but we already understand these are alpha/beta builds. So flourishes like Voices aren't fully necessary yet and shouldn't force development to slow. Usually that sort of thing is done at the end of dev anyway. But considering the nature of this maybe it's best as a way to show off the point. I cant say for sure but ultimately this type of issue won't matter once a full release is ready so whatever you wanna do works

I do personally think you should publish it since when you publish it people who wants the voice CAN choose to not download until the voice comes but when you dont publish it we HAVE to wait until the voice comes

Both ways ok for me, i can wait more, since without sounds the scenes wont feel same, but i can understand people who dont want to wait either.
