2024 July Post 04 - Tiny Dragon and Faun
🕑 Added 2024-07-19 13:49:52 +0000 UTCExperimenting with art style a little bit, did a small dragon and a faun. Not sure if I've been able to achieve a nice 'muzzle'-style face in my art style yet, but this is my best attempt so far. Really happy with how the dragon turned out though.
If anyone has thoughts on the art style I'd love to hear it.

Gotcha! I like it, personally, feels like it's a change-up that's still all your own, still feels like it's yours ^^

Thanks! Well, basically I want to know if people like the art style. It's hard to get that kind of feedback, because mostly people care about the subject matter.

Arrrgh, that minipose is adorable >/////< The muzzle looks like a great traditional 'taper' in proper perspective--is there any particular feedback you're aiming for? ^^

I wouldn't mind eloping with a faun lady.

You came to this forrest to save some princes from a supposed fey or faun monster, but you elope with faun lady instead to get away from that toxic brat.

Alright, thanks! Someone else gave me very similar feedback. I'll work on editing the faun's face! Clearly the dragon turned out better. (A lot more time went into it as well, though 90% of that was the lineart.)

With the mission statement being you trying to achieve a nice muzzle-style face, and this being a new artsyle you're experimenting with... No comparisons: I'm fine with how this new artsyle of yours has turned out, though I'll admit that the surface marks/lines throughout the faun's face and TinyDragon stand out--but I'm not 100% sure enough if those are sketch marks to better define my thoughts on them. I think I'd find the faun's face more pleasing to look at with less of those marks. With comparisons to your previous artstyles: Comparing these with Owl Bear Shenanigans 03, Transporter Mishap, Eda and Raine, Engineer Rat, and Pilot Error; primarily because the artystyle with them seem similar enough to your most recent Experiment pieces (including the surface marks/lines)... I think the Eda and Raine, Pilot Error, Engineer Rat, and Transporter Mishap pieces are the best examples with good balance between empty space and the surface marks/lines--specifically on the face/muzzle, along with shading in those areas when comparing them to your most recent experiments. If I were to do a little, maybe even dangerous, critiquing (which I hope is still in line with what you have asked of me)... the Faun suffers the most from the Surface marks/lines on her muzzle/face. TinyDragon Experiment fairs much better in the facial surface marks side of things.

Until they become a macro dragon, then it gets even better! Do you have any thoughts on the art style though?

Remember friends: A playfull and micro dragon a day keeps the bad vibes away. That dragon looks wonderful wrapped around that ball!
