2025 January Post 06 - A Kobold, Magic, and You

I got into the mood recently to finish an absolutely ancient audio project. In this audio play you encounter Zree, the slightly crazy kobold I drew earlier, and she feeds on magic, which turns her into a dragon.) There were other plans, other ideas for narratives and scenarios but in the end this is what I settled on because I wanted to do something easy and not half an hour long.
I made a video file that incorporated the drawing of her together with the audio but it became a 140 megabyte file and nobody needs that.
In the end I'm happy with what I made, but damn it's a chore finding good sounds to work with. - Couldn't find good kobold sounds so I had to improvise with dinosaurs and goblins and whatnot.

Listener exits a party, goes outside.

Listener walks through the garden, passes a decorative magic orb on a pedestal.

While walking through the grass, the Listener hears a tiny kobold and sits down in the grass. The kobold runs over.

The kobold asks for something.

Kobold gets zapped when she absorbs magic from some magic item the viewer has on them. Kobold starts changing, and gets a little bigger. When she realizes what is happening, she enjoys it.

Kobold gives listener a kiss, and begs for more.

Kobold absorbs energy from a second magic item and changes into a small dragon.

Small dragon kisses listener.

Dragon absorbs more magic from items in the listenerโs inventory, and grows bigger

Listener gets up and starts walking back to the party. The dragon follows behind them.

While passing the magic orb on a pedestal, the listener accidentally bumps into the pedestal, causing the orb to fall and shatter.

The shattered magic orb releases its energy, which the dragon absorbs. She starts growing again.

Another burst of energy from the orb fragments. The dragon absorbs it and grows larger.

As the dragon finishes growing, she roars.

A random wizard walks into the scene, panics when he sees the dragon, fireballs her, and runs away.

The dragon absorbs the energy from the fireball and starts growing again.
05:46
The growing dragon starts walking through buildings, with the intent of absorbing the energy from any magic items that might be inside.

The dragon starts leveling a city, half by stepping on buildings, half by simply growing over it, absorbing any magic she comes across.

All the listener can see and hear is an immense wall of dragon hide swelling, stretching, and drawing closer as it crushes everything in its path.

Thanks! I kind of am curious what people think is happening, so I don't think I'll be posting a description any time soon. :) I won't be making another one any time soon, but I probably will come back to it at some point. (And adding a picture or two probably.)

Now thats something I didn't expect from you. But surprisingly professionally done, I'd say. It's a bit hard to follow all the times what's going on, and as others have said, timestamps (or maybe more images) could really help. But it's also fun to come up with what exactly is going on on the fly. Further it occured to me that those kind of audio growth-sequences are very much underrepresented in the fandom. There are a lot of them featuring on vore for some reason, but not many that have growth in their focus. I very much enjoyed it. You used a wide variety of sounds and I really liked that rubbery "baloon getting inflated" creaking and groaning as she got larger. Fits her shiny appearance well and also with how girthy your characters usually get when growing. Like skin getting stretched taut over increasing volume and mass. The ever more menacing roars round the whole thing up nicely (pun intendet). So yeah, wouldn't mind hearing more like this (or seeing the sequence illustrated at some point).

This was some wonderful audio! I think some timestamps with some short descriptions would help supplement the imagery as the audio is playing. Otherwise it's up to our imagination to fill in the gaps for a lot of the sounds. Great work! Would love to hear another audio project from you.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it! I'll be working on other stuff for a bit, because of how tedious this is at times, but in the future I might do something like this again!

I imagine at that point every part of her except one location is far away from you, which you'd get with macros anyway... Some day I'll do this, but have the creaking sounds move away as well as different body parts move away! I tried to do that a little.

It sounded fantastic with my headset/headphones; quality wise, I'd say it definitely holds up. The BIG roars near the end were spine-tingling!

I think you did a very good job depicting the scale here even in audio. You can tell that last roar is from something very very large, which only sounds distant due to the sheer distance her maw is from the ground

There are a couple people on FA who post audio plays, though they mostly focus on vore. Does the autio quality hold up on this one though? This is the first time I've ever done this.
