Just want to clarify that my comment about Hua Yongs misconception from ep 5 to ep 8 was my take from the show, not the book. In the book SSY did treat HY as a side dish and so he went to spent his rut with his girlfriend who he kept for a few months although he was dating HY

Ho boy yeah this was a tough watch. I appreciated what you said about how NC is an element that happens in BL a lot and why that is, it definitely helps to give context bc I'm often like AGAIN?? Why can we not be more creative... but there is also a difficult element with the dubcon nature of pheromones in ABO too. I am a little confused about why there aren't societal procedures or something in place if anyone could get affected by pheromones and lose their minds and even memories at a moment's notice. Seems like people knew the deal but were like "Oh they'll be fine tho"--- why would they think that?? Will be interesting to see where it goes from there! Also thanks for the summary of the plot in the beginning from the book- that was really helpful!
