Hello everyone,
Since many people don’t read the news at all, the main thing is that the first update of the second episode will be a big prologue that starts from the end of the first episode. Sandbox and new mechanics will not be included.
More information below for those who like to read a lot of text.
Story
I have always been a supporter of an ideology – story is more important than gameplay, and nothing has changed since then. Two more additional screenwriters could be added to the project, one of which has extensive experience in writing books and stories .
Why do I say they “could” be added?
Because it’s much harder to join a cohesive team and someone else’s project. Also, the question is not about money, but whether this or that person actually wants to be part of the team. Creativity cannot be bought for money.
Art
The ending of the first episode was left opened. If I publish any art, I will reveal a plot twist. I don’t think you would be interested in renders where Forlan just stands in front of the burgomaster. So, I’m sorry but you will have to wait.
Interface
New interface is being drawn. The old one was not always informative. It also did not look beautiful. The interface will be redone for new mechanics.
Gameplay
The combat system will be expanded:
- new types of attacks
- levelling (perks)
- sword improvements adjusted
- mechanics of the armour have been redone. (Armour will now give not only buffs but also a debuff. You will have to choose what to sacrifice)
Important, all this is currently in the concept stage and may change at any time.
Ready for update is 9k words and 320 renders. I don’t know exactly how much more needs to be done, but the prologue should be complete. That is the main thing for us.
It is not as much content as we would like. A lot of time has been spent on issues not related to the development of the episode.
- The release of the game on Steam and its sudden popularity took a lot of time. For example, I had to redo the art for Elana, and that is almost 60 renders, + bug fixes, etc.
- Search for people to expand the team. I talked to a lot of people. The result is not very positive. In addition to writers, another programmer may join the project.
I know that having read all the above, many people may think that we are doing the wrong thing, spending time on unnecessary things. For me, the most important thing is to always do a little better than before. If art-wise I have reached a maximum for now, then in other areas the project has a room to grow.

Сюжет
Я всегда был приверженцем идеологии - сюжет важнее геймплея и с тех пор ничего не изменилось. В проект могут добавится еще два дополнительных сценариста, один из которых с большим опытом публицистики.
Почему я ставлю под вопрос появление сценаристов?
Потому что вливаться в слаженный коллектив и чужой проект намного сложнее и тут вопрос не в деньгах, а в том захочет ли тот или иной человек быть частью команды. Творчество за деньги не купить.
Арт
Концовка первого эпизода открытая. Если я опубликую какой-либо арт я раскрою сюжетный поворот. Вряд ли вам будет интересен арт, где Форлан на приеме у бургомистра. Извините придется ждать.
Интерфейс
Сейчас рисуется новый интерфейс. Старый был не всегда информативен. Так же он не отличался красивым дизайном. Интерфейс будет глобально переделан под новые механики.
Геймплей
Боевая система будет углублена:
- новые типы ударов
- прокачка (перки)
- переделаны улучшения меча
- переделана механика брони. (Броня теперь будет давать не только баффы, но и дебафф. Придется выбирать чем жертвовать:)
Важно, все это на стадии концепта и может изменится.
Для обновления готовы 9.5к слов и 325 артов. Не знаю точно сколько нужно еще сделать, пролог должен быть цельным, это для нас главное.
Это не так много, как хотелось бы. Много времени ушло на вопросы, не связанные с разработкой эпизода.
- Выход игры в Стим и ее внезапная популярность отняла немало времени. Например, пришлось переделать арт для Эланы, а это почти 60 артов + правки багов и т.д.
- Поиск людей для расширения команды. Много с кем нужно было общаться. Результат не очень удачный. Помимо писателей в проект возможно добавится еще один программист.
Я знаю, что прочитав все вышесказанное, многие люди могут подумать, что мы поступаем неправильно, тратя время на ненужные вещи. Но поймите, для меня самое главное-всегда делать немного лучше, чем раньше. Если в художественном плане я пока достиг максимума, то в других областях проекту есть куда расти.

Art: I do not know what others think, but personally I prefer that you hide all artwork, related materials and any disclosures until the actual release date of the Update. I prefer the significant pleasure of fresh, unexpected discoveries.

I agree with everything that Moomoo Moon says, and I will continue to support you and your team too. I feel, however, that so far the balance between visual and written elements has created the quality and believability of the characters, which makes the ease and depth of emotional attachment to them one of the features that still distinguish this project from the rest. However, wherever you take us, I’m sure it will be an intriguing, touching and extremely enjoyable experience for all of us.
