🕑 Added 2022-12-22 15:03:50 +0000 UTCShortly before starting Madame Zelda's I was working for this magazine called Upfront. Looking back it's kind of shocking that they published Charlie Black in 2006. I don't know what I was thinking.

It started out pretty cool, but it got steadily lamer over the years. The owner started to cheap out on a lot of things, he took advantage of the staff, and when the smoking ban came in and their tips were cut by more than half the quality of staff dropped. Also he wouldn't ban customers that caused problems and so fewer and fewer people wanted to hang out there, as the place filled up with the annoying people that got kicked out of the other coffee shops in the area.

It looks like milk bar may have closed in 2016 or so? But just the pictures and marketing for it make it seem like a crazy place. Like something out of clockwork orange.
