Reflections.
🕑 Added 2023-04-29 09:15:48 +0000 UTCAs you know, the work on the third episode of VC has been stopped. Stopped, but not closed. The reasons for this have been stated before, I won't repeat them. Having said that, I have been very pessimistic in my predictions on whether would we ever finish the game. I think this is correct, you shouldn’t get your hopes up if you are not 100% sure of what you are saying.
That said, stopping the project doesn't mean I'm sitting idle. I can't say what I’m working on right now for I have too many haters, I don't want this crowd of clinical idiots to get in the way of our side project. I haven’t really considered this factor before, which also played a negative role. I’m saying all this to let you know that for the next year and a half I’ll be busy with other stuff. Now I only have time for renders. Though I finally have more free time. It is an unimaginable pleasure. I am even glad that things have turned out this way.
Can VC3 development be resumed? Yes it can, but it requires a combination of many factors. So leaving a subscription only for the sake of it is definitely not worth it. Now that I have more time, I am translating our games into other languages. If Europeans didn’t like our games (and most Russian speakers can't buy games from STEAM) there’s a chance other people will enjoy it. If you don't want to adjust to the current realities, you need to keep looking for other opportunities.
Now about renders. Naturally, there are no plans to make it my only income. It's more of an exercise for me. I am increasingly trying to adapt neural networks to my work. For example by improving 3D art. Sometimes it works, but it’s still too unstable to use it on a regular basis.
Overall, I have a lot of plans. The initial shock is long gone. After all, we’ve been standing rather firmly on our feet for just one small failure to ruin our small company.

Как вы знаете работы над третьим эпизодом были остановлены. Остановлены, но не закрыты. Причины тому были сказаны ранее, это я повторять не буду. При этом, я был весьма пессимистичен в прогнозах, по завершению игры. Считаю это правильным, не стоит давать надежды, если у тебя нет 100% уверенности в сказанном.
При этом как я уже говорил, остановка проекта не значит что я сижу без работы. Не могу сказать над чем, у меня слишком много хейтеров, не хочу чтобы эта толпа клинических идиотов мешала стороннему проекту. Я до этого не до оценивал этот фактор, что тоже сыграло свою негативную роль. Рассказываю я это для понимания, что ближайшие год–полтора я связан обязательствами. Сейчас у меня есть время только на картинки. Хотя свободного времени наконец стало больше. Это невообразимое удовольствие. Я даже рад, что все так сложилось.
Может ли быть возобновлена разработка VC3? Да вполне, но для этого нужно сочетание большого количества факторов. Поэтому оставлять подписку только ради этого, точно не стоит. Сейчас поскольку у меня появилось чуть больше времени, я занялся переводом наших игр на другие языки. То что не понравилось европейцам (а русскоязычные в большой массе не могут купить игры в СТИМ), может понравится где–то еще. Если не хочется подстраиваться, нужно искать другие пути.
Относительно картинок. Естественно нет никаких планов делать это единственным заработком. Это скорее упражнения. Я все чаще пытаюсь приспосабливать нейросети к работе. Например путем улучшения 3Д арта. Иногда получается, но все же пока нестабильно.
В целом у меня много планов. Первичный шок давно пройден. Все же мы довольно крепко стояли на ногах, чтобы небольшая неудача похоронила нашу небольшую компанию.

It's not a question of me being hurt by it. This, among other things, influenced further developments. Sanctions + a technical glitch at the start + low ratings prevented the game from getting the same views that we got earlier.

In a different venue I do some blogging. There are those creeps there too. No matter what you write or do, they will find something negative to say. I simply ignore them. Some I don't even read since their writings are just full of bile and hate. There are some sick people out there.

They don't offend me, but they can harm the project. I had underestimated this before, but the VC 2 experience has shown me that for nothing.

Hey Novel, I’m also a video content creator besides by normal work and the amount of private negative messages I receive can really get one down if you are not careful! Especially after you have put in the sweat and work to make them happen! Some cowards don’t dare post it publicly and they send malicious private messages. If not for the team supporting me I would have given up due to these losers of life. Know that you are creating value in this world and you only get to ask what values these guys are creating for the world, if anything. Keep your values at the front of your mind and I am grateful for the work you do! Thank you ❤️
