Bacon Macleod

I don’t quite understand the issue you are referring too, but you should still try to write it even if you never share it. My first book I ever wrote (and half of its sequel) will probably never see the light of day, but writing it was one of the best and most fun things I’ve ever done (among the most frustrating too, but still worth it)

Rick

I was going to try to write a story that's been in my head for years . But this story and many others have convinced me to take it to my grave . I've noticed a pronoun issue I'd never be able to overcome...to old to set in my ways ...so I'll enjoy these wounderfull story's instead .

Pandelion

I don't really see the difference we know that we have skill selection incoming, no matter which sentence he chooses as the last one it's still a cliffhanger. There would always have been cuts in between the end of the fight and class selection/honours. If you don’t like waiting for the rest all you can really do is bank a bunch of chapters. Otherwise it would always have to come piecemeal

luxrus

He could just say, “He took a breath” or something and end the chapter after the results instead of introducing a new thing… its just a structure of: previous thing reveal+new thing setup over and over again and its so damn boring

Pandelion

I thought similar at first but then i realised something, read all the chapters since the end of the fight. Where could he have ended the chapters so there wouldn't be a cliffhanger? It happens because this is a very long sequence and he writes small chapters. Unless he banked chapters for a week and released them all at once this was unavoidable.

Mimic

"I don't know english"

OriksGaming

"Learnt" is more common in British English, but it's not incorrect either way. Edit: The author also uses "humour," at a glance, so he's probably using/favoring British English. In that case, "learnt" would be entirely correct.

lawlawlaw

yeah its just getting boring atp

Rick

Lol ....learnt? ....I'm dyslexic and even I know or have learned lol that's probably not right :)

james belz

Is it just me or is kaius becoming a witcher?

EsZeus

Yeah, a LOT of people described it over the last 20 chapters or so by now. I think it's more of an illness/sickness of Bacon Macleod when it comes to cliffhangers. He somehow loves them, even if readers overall don't like them. And he keeps coming back to them every few chapters :) These cliffhangers are the real first major annoying things happening and it's really not a good thing for the story and the feeling I got from reading it currently. 🫠

Tommy

Yeah. It’s not a fun “oh I wonder what will happen to the MC next” cliff. It’s just a barring of knowledge cliff. Which does indeed, suck. I’d have preferred to see a list of the skills, then spend the day wondering which he’d choose, maybe debating it in the discord. Locking the info behind a cliff is less fun imo.

Matthew

I'm glad the requirements are more fluid, I don't like when they dont adapt.

The Lost Pages

That is a good distinction between Relevant and Required. What about adding a small discussion with the system about that distinction?

Maxime Cusson

Thanks

luxrus

You don’t have to do this. Introducing constant cliffs so blatantly is really tiring, and takes away from the moment

Tanner

Thanks for the chapter!
