I think the lesser regeneration letting you still used damaged body parts was that its temporary and scales with the skills level, so its probably that the skill isnt high enough level and that the broken arm went back to being useless after a second or two.

he giant duked to the side. is that supposed to say ducked?

Another thing is that Champion difficulty, with some exceptions, seems to be trending upwards. I know this is also to maintain tension in combat as our MC becomes more powerful, but this actually goes against your own worldbuilding. All champions in a given level of The Depths should be approximately as strong as another, within a certain range of power. It is vanishingly unlikely to encounter all these champions in ascending order of power, and we know that the mysterious silk-clad being is unable to influence the challenges Kaius faces, only the rewards he receives. Champions *should* be getting easier for him on average as he grows in power, varying mostly based on specific ability match ups rather than the Champions just being straight up stronger.

Couple of things that were forgotten here. • His very first skill was Pain Resistance. Rapid Adaptation should be more than capable of numbing the pain of moving a broken arm, even one as fractured as his at that moment. • One of the things he talked about for Lesser Regeneration was that "a broken leg could still support his weight". If that's the case, then raising a broken arm should be no problem at all. I get that you need to add tension to combat, but don't do it like this. Not all challenges need to be nigh overwhelming, especially when a character has specifically prepared for that kind of challenge in advance. I'm sure it's unintentional to forget aspects of his admittedly diverse powerset when you're caught up writing in the moment, but not catching these things during editing can be an issue. When asking readers to suspend their disbelief, you have to be consistent with that ask. If you establish a thing is one way, it has to either remain that way or be explicitly changed through narrative. Otherwise you start to lose credibility with your readers, and their buy-in to the story can start to waiver. As with all things, consistency is key.

I get the feeling the ogre guardian fight will be an exercise in stacking the deck exceptionally unfairly against the ogre guardian (and still struggling). Prep time can do wonders

If Kaius is already struggling to dodge lover boy, then the ogre guardian seems nigh impossible 😱
