Current situation regarding b42 mod
🕑 Added 2024-12-22 10:57:04 +0000 UTCSince b42 most of the mods we were working on were broken.
We decided that it would be nearly impossible to move or repair what we were working on based on B41 to B42 (due to the huge amount of code and scripts).
So we are going to work on a new B42.
First of all, save the functional part.
Confirmed functional parts
- weapon animations
- different types of magazines
- Crossbow / Bows / Throwing Weapons
It is difficult to apply all the guns right now, so only a few types of weapons will be selected and updated at first.
and Armor pack will also be applied as above.

Look, CDDA has huge number of weapons, maybe close to Britas. And each weapon/weapons family has its own mag/magazines and everything works like a charm.

I think it could be possible to make some mags more common in the dist list, to offset rarity. But personally I do not see big deal if some niche weapons have very rare mags. The majority of weapons belong to families of firearms anyway, so those stanag, 1911s, glocks, Uzi mags would fit a variety of weapons.

I think some guns like the Glocks could have their own unique magazines, MAC10, UZI etc

Those other weapon mods dosnt have many guns, just a few, but GunFighter/Brita has like over 200 unique guns, sure most of them use the same magazines like STANAG or AK mags but there is alot that dosnt, so if these all got their own unique magazine it would be very hard to find more than 1-2 of those mags, then comes extended magazines too and adds another layer of problems.

Guys, I’ve been testing various weapon mods coming to B42 and they all have individual mags for each weapon platform. I urge you to reconsider the usual Brita “universal mag” set up and add individual mags for each weapon. This would improve the immersion in so many ways. Thanks!

Good luck with the B42 update, guys! Will you consider adding dedicated magazines for each weapon (instead of universal single/double stack mags that fit most weapons)? I know this is a balancing question, but CDDA handles this very well and with increased variety of mags.

Makes sense, will there be any updates for new weapons for b41? Some of the ammo types don’t match up to the gun like in real life like the Nagant 1895.
