Ooooh I like that. However, dynasties are also bloodlines (see, Kaius being dynastic in the early chapters.) I think dynasties are created via skillets, but result as bloodlines that u could get adopted into. With that added context, 'under the star' could be a reasonable name for the imperial family (the emperor being the star). They won't inherit, so there's no reason for their name to be the royal name

I've been scratching my head since the start of the story when the name of Kaius' dynasty was mentioned: Unterstern. The only example of German I can remember from the whole story, and given its translation as below/under/subordinate (a/the) star, despite it being the as of now only known full human legacy, it just screamed shenanigans. But by now, we have enough pieces of the puzzle to put together much of the picture: first, dynasties are a system enforced concept, that are based more on skillsets than blood, second, the Empire had a singular ruler for its entire existence (yes, a possibility was mentioned that it was successive people under the same identity, but I choose to believe it wasn't so - would fit the story and the world much better). As such, none of the members of the imperial line had a chance to inherit the throne. Ever. But the system still recognised them as dynasties. So why not use them as a way to slot people that want to feel important into dynasties that represent leading skillsets of the Empire. Suddenly it starts to make sense that they were either ranked, or generally named in a way that suggests subordination.

Throwing my hat in the ring I say… the doors react to a formerly-unique trait of a person. Like having a specific honour. In case the Emperor really was kinda-immortal and kicked of the first phase of the integration somehow - would explain his advantaged status - maybe the state of ‘having started the (phase of the) integration’
