Aftermath Team

Glad you enjoy it. While we haven't explored the "Negative/Evil" content much yet, I do actually have plans to include content related to them trying to run away and such. ;)

Jordan Davis

This scene honestly warms my heart, Anna is my weak spot. and to be honest it would be very nice to see the "evil path" counterpart of this with John or Claire stopping them from running away kind of thing.

Aftermath Team

I'll take a look at it next time I crack open the game to work on it. I like reviewing a scene the day after I write it, gives me more of a fresh look than if I just read it right after writing it.

Aftermath Team

The scene won't make an impact on chores and such. It's sort of a case of chores need to be done, so they get worked on.

Braidborn

i mean she would... wouldn't she? John admitted they are not ( at the least, no longer) servants or slaves, I would imagine anna would continue to cook and clean out of a sense of duty and devotion, but eve would spend a significant amount of time playing, with Gaia, with you,

Aftermath Team

Eve has those moments of brilliance and deep insight, I see this as a bit of a reflection of that. The idea of her asking for more play time cracks me up though, . . .

Braidborn

much much better, though i still think eve's reaction (the whole "Dummy," Eve says, sounding suddenly angry,") is a bit out of character to me Eve is the definition of child like innocence, innocent yes but also very mischievous, imho i don't think anger would be the emotion she feels, more pure adoration followed immediately by asking if this means she could play more during the day

Aftermath Team

I just posted a revision below. Let me know what you think.

Aftermath Team

What do you think about this replacing the line where Eve calls you "Master"? You can feel Anna take a deep breath, hold it for a second then let it out slowly. Her breath is hot against your chest. You're actually a bit surprised when she pulls back suddenly, her eyes holding a strength that you are not used to seeing, "If you want us to leave, we will," You can feel your eyes widen slightly at how firm her voice is, "But I //love// you, //we// love you, and there is no place we would rather be," She barely even pauses as she forges on, "This mansion, it was the place of nightmares before you came her, and you, your kindness, your compassion, it turned those nightmares into a fairytale. It made this house of horrors into a home for us. You gave us our lives, gave us worth, and made us your family," The tears begin to flow freely from her eyes now, her voice finally faltering, "It hurts my h-heart just to think about leaving y-you. If home is where the heart is," Her voice becomes a bare whisper, "Then my home is with you." For several seconds, you are speechless, unable to form coherent thoughts as you struggle to find the correct response. Lacking any words, you pull her back into your arms and hold her tightly. You don't hold her long before you feel something against your arm, trying to wedge itself between your arm and Anna. Glancing toward the source, you see Eve trying to squeeze her way into the embrace. You happily loosen your grip enough for the younger woman to slip into your embrace as well. The three of you remain like that for a long time, both sisters seemingly content within your embrace. When the show finally ends, Eve wiggles out of your embrace before turning to you, "Goodnight //master//," Eve says with a smirk.

Braidborn

(was still typing hit enter by accident) Well, assuming anna doesn't think its some kind of trap, i would imagine anna and eve would love him even more for the offer, to use your words when the dust settles, they should realize exactly what he is offering, not just freedom but a better life than before, one without fear or pain, Like mentioned previously one trip to the police with the journals and john is in jail for life, it should be the moment where they realize it not blow it off as being silly or something they already have

Aftermath Team

At super high stat levels, I picture Anna accepting the words at face value, it's a long road to earn her trust, and that should count for something important. I am however rolling an idea around in my head as a way to expand the scene. We'll see what I come up with. ;) I think what I have in mind will impassion the scene a bit.

Aftermath Team

Ok, talk to me then. How would you picture the scene playing out? I was picturing it as one of those moments where something big comes up, and when the dust settles you realize that what they've already sort of achieved the freedom that you just offered. I'm more than willing to take another look and possibly improve on the scene. Also, this is my first draft, it's not unusual for me to go back and expand on a scene later.

Braidborn

the way 5c ends, kind of takes away from the gesture... its supposed to be viewed as this wonderful gesture the end result being they love him even more for the choice, but the way they react its almost anticlimactic, like there was no point in john making the offer in the first place
