Day doesnt realize that he lets his guard down around Mhok because deep down he knows that he can trust Mhok to be there for him . So because he trusts Mhok he is able to comfortable , be playful and mess around without feeling self-conscious or having second thought that he is making a mess or what other people is thinking. What makes Mhok different to other people around Day , in my opinion , is that he allows Day to grow as a person and helps Day build his self confidence and self independence within himself on his own without rushing him . Whereas his mom and brother would walk on eggshells around him , do everything for him and break down self confidence without meaning too .
