It picks up right some of the events if episode 8, goes back and gives you a little background story. My own personal opinion is that you miss a bit when you don’t see it.

I really recommend that you watch the special episode AFTER episode 8. That’s when it came out. It’s on YouTube. The production company released it. It tells more of the backstory and has the guy from History 3 in it more. It’s even worth reacting to imo but that of course is entirely up to you
