The Future on Patreon

Last month we celebrated 3 years of posting early access and exclusive reactions to Patreon. It’s been such an incredible way of connecting and reacting to things I normally can’t react to on YouTube and watching our community grow has been amazing.
As you all know, in November of 2022, I moved to Puerto Rico to be able to take care of my grandmother who is 80, is sick and can no longer live alone. All of our family lives in the States but I grew up in Puerto Rico and was practically raised by my grandmother while my parents both worked full time, so it only made sense that we would be the ones to move back and take care of her. However, once we settled on the island, my mom was also diagnosed with a few things that caught us by surprise and we’ve been constantly in and out of hospitals, doctor’s appointments, etc. It’s been rough, but honestly, doing reactions gives me the escapism I need plus keeps me busy when things get a bit too stressful.
All this to say that being able to create reactions and content on Patreon has been an incredible blessing. It has allowed me to earn enough to have this be my main source of income while having an open schedule to take care of my mom and grandmother and also do something that I love doing, which is watching BL and queer shows and sharing that excitement with so many people.
I’m constantly in contact with so many of you, whether on here or on twitter and one thing a few of you always tell me is that I should raise my pricing here on Patreon (believe it or not) so that I can keep growing and continue to evolve. I’ve always been hesitant to do that because I know how difficult it is to shell out money as it is and I wanted the memberships to be affordable. But because I do want to keep reacting and posting videos on Patreon and also move into adding some additional perks, I figured it was time to update the memberships to reflect the change in perks.
Now, this is where you come in as part of the community. I would like your advice on the ideas as they stand now.
1st: Because I know a lot of you have been supporting me since the very beginning (i love you all so much with all my heart), if you’re currently subscribed to the $3 Gold Star tier, you will get to retain that pricing as long as you stay subscribed at that tier.
What this means is that, once I unpublish that tier, as long as you’re still subscribed, you will be able to have access to all the shows plus new shows I react to. Any new patrons that come in will not get that opportunity as the tier will no longer be available.
2nd: My plans for the new Gold Star tier at a higher price will have some additional perks. As of now, the new perks I had in mind include reacting to a movie per month plus having exclusive Patron only livestreams where we hangout once a week (maybe a few times a week) and watch things or chat or whatever you’d like. (I’m open to other new perks to offer down in the comments)
The Patrons who remain in the unpublished $3 tier will, again, have access to all past shows plus all new series reactions on Patreon. However, if you’d like access to the all the new movie reactions plus the exclusive livestreams and extra perks, you would need to upgrade to the new tier.
If I’m able to grow enough to where I can have someone help me with editing, that would also be a benefit, as I would be able to maybe expand the things I’m reacting to like bonus content or shorter videos like compilations, etc. I’m often spread too thin during the week so editing can become a bit of a hassle at times.
How does this sound to you? I’m open to your suggestions and thoughts down below. I’ve been thinking about this for a while now and was even debating not doing it but I figured having a little growth and adding some additional value wouldn’t hurt, especially after 3 years of doing this. These changes wouldn’t go into effect until maybe a month or two. And I’m open to your suggestions as to how much the new tier should be.
